How can I check if my SAP Server is reachable?

If you try executing an action on a SAP Server that cannot be reached, a notification will usually be displayed.

However it is also possible to manually check if the server is reachable directly from the application:

  1. Open the application from any change document.

  2. Select the target SAP System in the Transport Creation / Development System dropdown list.

  3. Wait for the server check to be performed.

  4. If your SAP Server cannot be reached, a red light will be displayed:

There are many reasons why a server cannot be reached, please contact your Basis or Network team to help you troubleshoot the issue.
